Happy birthday. This week CNN’s home page literally led with a story about a boy trapped down a well, then pivoted to Olympic coverage with a side of continued complaining about Donald Trump. Two years into the pandemic, we have normality. Well, almost. There’s still a bunch of unnecessary restrictions in place and various arguments about them. That is going to go on for a while. The BA.2 variant is going to take over, although I doubt it will cause major issues as it does. There’s also that whole convoy situation.
Regarding the possibility of mischief charges getting the truckers barred from entry to the US in the future, this is almost certainly deliberate FUD on the part of the police; while border agents do exercise some discretion as to who they admit, generally minor convictions not involving drugs or "moral turpitude" (including but by no means limited to prostitution, gambling, polygamy and fraud) are no problem:
I seem to have been pretty wrong about Taiwan, it's hanging in there with cases continually dominated by those already in quarantine. This is a hard update, but well done Taiwan.
Covid 2/10: Happy Birthday

I’m from Wisconsin so I can understand how your mayor might confuse cheese and heroin.
